THR reported that talks between Cavill and Warner Brothers over a Shazam cameo fell apart, leading to the actor leaving the role of Superman altogether. After that Deadline reported that WB is looking to take the Superman role in a new direction, with the hopes of casting Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) as the Man of Steel. While the world has been counting down to Infinity War, Marvel has been working on multiple films that will follow the next Avengers flick. The most exciting of which may be Captain Marvel. That film will bring the much beloved hero Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, to the big screen on March 8th 2019 and Marvel has just announced the official start of production. After the incredible success of DC and WB’s Wonder Woman a sequel was greenlit rather quickly. Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot will return for the sequel which will pickup in the 1980’s during the height of the Cold War. Today we’ve got some exciting casting news on the film.
Actor Taron Egerton is rumored to be in talks to star as none other than Sir Elton John in the biopic Rocketman. The Daily Mail broke the story, stating that Egerton has been in talks with the film’s director Dexter Flecher who helmed the Egerton led flick Eddie the Eagle, and producer Matthew Vaughn who produced Eddie the Eagle and directed Egerton in Kinsman and its upcoming sequel.
