Once Upon A Deadpool Trailer – Deadpool is Back for the Holidays

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for Once Upon a Deadpool! A PG-13 Retelling of the story of Deadpool 2.

The upcoming release is a bit of a surprise, Ryan Reynolds started teasing the project about a month ago with a picture of Deadpool sitting next to Fred Savage à la Princess Bride. So far we know that additional footage was shot over the past few months, and the film will not only be PG-13, but will also lean into the holiday season. The film is set for a limited release on December 12th, with $1 from each ticket going to the charity F-ck Cancer, which is being rebranded as Fudge Cancer for the release of the film. You can check out the first trailer below.

Aside from this being a way to make some extra cash for Fox, it’s obvious that this is Disney trying to see how successful a PG-13 version of Deadpool can be once their purchase of Fox is finalized. The Fox properties (X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool) will all be owned by Disney and Marvel Studios proper, and can then be integrated into the MCU. So releasing this “family friendly” cut of Deadpool 2 will help them figure out how to move forward with the character. It’s a smart move on Disney’s part, and hopefully it helps them move things along easily. No matter what we’re just excited for more Deadpool.

Be sure to check out Once Upon A Deadpool while it’s in theaters from December 12th through December 24th.
