Dave Filoni, who has overseen the animated Star Wars series, announced during the 10th Anniversary Panel for the Clone Wars series, that the hit show is set to return. Disney is prepping twelve episodes that will help finish the story told in the original series, with plans to release the new shows on their upcoming streaming service. It’s no big surprise that Disney greenlit a revival of the show. They’ve been vocal about their streaming site featuring new Star Wars content and a live action series from Iron Man Director Jon Favreau has already been announced.
